About Mac My Day

Mac My Day is a UK charity founded by Rebecca Gibb, the mother of a child living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Shaped by lived experience, the charity focuses on improving lives through research, understanding, and connection. It is grounded in optimism, capability, and the belief that living well today matters.

Why Duchenne Matters

Duchenne muscular dystrophy affects muscle strength and mobility from childhood and shapes everyday life for those living with it.

While there is currently no cure, better understanding, care, and treatment can make a real difference.

Supporting that work matters - for individuals, families, and everyone working towards better outcomes.

Focused on What Matters

We prioritise work that is thoughtful, credible, and aligned with our purpose, focusing effort where it can make the most meaningful difference.

Guided by Evidence

Decisions are informed by expertise, research, and lived experience, with care taken to avoid overclaiming or short-term thinking.

Built on Collaboration

We believe progress comes through working together - across research, care, and community - and  by listening closely as we learn and grow..

Governance & Trustees

Mac My Day is overseen by a board of trustees who are responsible for the charity’s direction, decision-making, and use of funds. This structure helps ensure the charity operates responsibly, transparently, and in line with its purpose.
